Wendy Markum-Scanlan

 Owner & Wedding Planner

Hi there, my name is Wendy the owner and lead planner of The Savvy Bride.

I have been planning large-scale events and productions for over fifteen years and for the past four years have been exclusively planning awesome weddings for some really amazing brides.

I function on coffee and dark chocolate, relax with bubbles & a good book and celebrate with red wine, I share my office with four high-maintenance furry critters. I ugly sing in the car on my way to client meetings, geek out to Harry Potter and emoji banter with my brides.

I created The Savvy Bride four-years ago because I wanted to offer couples some fun during the planning process. It is so easy to feel the pressures of creating perfection and that can lead to unnecessary stress and frustration. My style of planning requires developing a personal relationship with my client that becomes a "style synced sisterhood." It isn't uncommon for my brides to go through a little Wendy withdrawal. No worries, I help with that as well. ;-)

Emily Helbig

Wedding Associate

Emily, a recent graduate from Lindenwood University with a degree in Elementary Education, always knew that planning weddings and events was her ultimate dream job. After teaching Kindergarten for one year and realizing it wasn’t the right fit, she decided to take the leap and start pursuing her passion. Leaning on her prior experience in wedding and event planning, Emily landed a job that allows her to help people the best way she knows how. She takes pride in bringing her clients’ dreams to fruition and is honored to join the Savvy Bride team!

Emily has flourished in the Saint Louis area as a mom of three fur babies, a sister in a family of seven, and a lifelong friend to many. In her spare time, Emily loves to try out new recipes, pour over a good book, and plan fun date nights with her husband, Alex.

Angela Moore

Wedding  Associate & Bridal Stylist

Angela holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in vocal performance, but for as long as she can remember she's been planning weddings and putting together outfits. After having her son in 2016 she decided to take a leap of faith and start her own personal styling business. To date, she's styled multiple clients for engagement and family photos, done live styling segments on Show Me St. Louis, speaking engagements, and most recently styled the featured editorial of the Fall/Winter 2018 edition of STL Bride Magazine.

Angela is excited to bring her passion for style and weddings together by joining the Savvy Bride team!

In her spare time, Angela enjoys watching Say Yes To The Dress, long trips down the aisles of Target, and singing with the St. Louis Chamber Chorus.
